IB HL Chemistry is no joke and balancing all other 5 demanding subjects I found myself struggling with the syllabus and getting very overwhelmed with the amount of content and difficulty of the subject. Within the first few sessions with Rose, I was able to understand topics that I had been struggling with for months, specific techniques and exam methods that in school teachers would lack, Rose would explain and make it very clear on how to approach in an exam setting. (she has a lot of tips and tricks that help connect various components to identify in exams and make it much easier to learn). As a national athlete, my school attendance was only 50%, and balancing IB chemistry HL with my demanding training schedule was incredibly difficult. I had massive gaps in my knowledge, especially in organic chemistry and equilibrium, and I often felt behind in class. On top of that, exhaustion from training made it even harder to focus and retain information. However, working with Rose completely changed my approach to chemistry. As a student who hopes to pursue science in the future, chemistry was an important and relevant subject for me to take and I found that I needed a lot of guidance and clear instruction to truly understand the subject. By the time I finished my first year of IB, I found myself struggling a lot with my understanding of IB SL Chemistry, and I was running behind the syllabus. Not too long ago, in my second year I realized I was in desperate need of a good tutor to help catch me up , especially in time for my final IB exams. I thought I was truly beyond help. In my very first lesson itself, she helped me learn a topic I had spent so long trying to wrap my head around. When I started taking IB Chemistry SL in my first year in IB, I was completely overwhelmed and struggled to study. I was unsure how to improve my grades since paying attention in class and studying at home was never enough. When I looked for a tutor, I picked Rose and was immediately happy about my decision. When I started the IBDP at a school that had never taught the curriculum before, I felt completely lost in chemistry. Teachers were still adapting to the syllabus, and I was unable to understand key concepts. By DP2, I realised I had massive gaps in my understanding. I was scoring 3s on tests, and my confidence hit rock bottom. I had always loved science, but I started questioning whether I made the right decision by choosing chemistry. The pressure of balancing IAs with exam preparation only made things worse, and I began to hate a subject I once loved. Rose changed everything. I started working with her in November, and her patience and expertise turned my frustration into progress. She did not just re-teach me the syllabus, Instead, she listened to what I struggled with and guided me in every session to fill those gaps.
