My Story

My Journey: Reflecting on my tutoring journey takes me back to my high school days. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology were my primary subjects, but unfortunately, some weren’t taught satisfactorily. l need extra support. However, back then, quality online tutoring wasn’t an option, and the logistics of reaching a tutor were challenging as my preferred tutor lived far away, making it difficult for my father to drive me there.

Determined to excel, I took matters into my own hands. I invested in comprehensive study materials and question banks for each subject. Alongside my textbooks, I meticulously delved into the pages, striving to grasp concepts and master every question from basic to advanced levels. During lunch breaks, I shared my newfound knowledge with peers who struggled to comprehend the material. Their positive feedback fueled my motivation to tutor. They expressed how my explanations resonated with them more than those of our teachers, finding clarity in what once seemed complex.

Soon, my desk became a hub of learning, attracting a flock of students seeking assistance. My Story

I’ve spent over 18 years helping learners across the globe realize that with the right approach, chemistry can be clear, logical, and even fun. When I Found My Calling

After high school, I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew one thing for sure — I loved learning. Chemistry soon became my focus, inspired by a wonderful teacher whose passion for the subject was contagious. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree, finishing Fourth in the State, and later completed my master’s, where I was voted and honoured as by the Professors of the Chemistry department as Best Postgraduate Student of the Year.

My professors recognized my enthusiasm and asked me to join the college as a lecturer after graduation — an offer that truly affirmed my love for teaching.

A few years later, after moving to a new city, an online tutoring agency reached out to me in 2007. My first online student was Dylan, an eighth grader. He loved my teaching style from the very first lesson. Soon I began teaching his brother, Austin, and before long, I was fully booked, tutoring students across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a career — it was my calling.

Refining My Craft and Expanding My Reach

Since then, I’ve completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (with an A+ grade), earned my TOEFL certification, and taught over 20,000 hours of chemistry lessons online. I’ve worked with students across international programs like AP, IB, IGCSE, GCSE, A-Levels, and VCE.

To ensure I could guide every student effectively, I immersed myself in each curriculum — attending workshops, reviewing syllabi and specifications, studying curriculum-specific textbooks, and referring through countless past exam papers to truly understand the style and depth of questions students encounter.

Over the years, I’ve noticed that many textbooks don’t always follow a logical progression of topics, which can make it hard for students to see how one idea connects to the next. In some cases, lessons are presented out of sequence, which adds to the confusion. Recognizing this, I’ve developed my own structured approach to help students learn chemistry in a clear, connected way that builds genuine understanding rather than rote memorization.

Through working with students around the world, I’ve also identified common patterns of misconceptions — subtle misunderstandings that often go unnoticed. Spotting these early allows me to guide students past them and strengthen their foundation before moving into advanced material.

My two decades of teaching have exposed me to every kind of learner — from those struggling to grasp the basics to those eager to dive into complex concepts. I’ve learned to recognize how each student thinks, tailor my explanations accordingly, and turn even the most challenging topics into something approachable and engaging.

What Makes My Lessons Different

Because I once struggled too, I know what it feels like to be confused by a topic that everyone else seems to “get.” That’s why my teaching style focuses on understanding first, shortcuts later.

I build every lesson around strong foundations, using interactive tools like simulations and models to make abstract ideas tangible. My goal is to create a stress-free atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their ability to find answers.

I believe learning happens best when students feel seen, heard, and supported. I make my lessons conversational, encouraging students to explore, think aloud, and engage — because true learning happens when they take ownership of the process.

Watching Students Thrive

What I love most is seeing how quickly students start to believe in themselves. Often, within the first lesson, they realize chemistry isn’t as hard as they thought. One parent, Anju, shared that her son Mihir — who was failing Chemstry and never took interest in the subject — came after our very first lesson saying, “I can score full marks now!”.  She said she had never seen him so excited after a Chemistry class!

Moments like that remind me gives me the goosebumps. My students don’t just improve their grades; they regain confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love for the subject.
